2025 Hotel Economic Forecast Luncheon
September 4, 2024
Thank you for attending the 2025 Annual Hotel Economic Forecast. We hope you found value in both the forecast and the opportunity to network with fellow industry members. In summary, the presentations highlight both challenges and opportunities for the region’s hotels and resorts. Hotels are projected to experience fluctuations in occupancy rates, a moderate increase in average daily rates (ADR), and ongoing issues related to labor shortages and rising operational costs. However, growth in domestic travel and heightened demand for sustainable tourism offer promising prospects.
A special thank you to our presenters: Gary London, Principal at London Moeder Analyst, Nathan Kelley, Research Director for the San Diego Tourism Authority, and Bob Rauch, CEO of RAR Hospitality. As with all of our events, we would not be able to do this without our sponsors. A special thank you goes out to our event sponsor Hospitality Staffing Solutions and host Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego La Jolla for making this event possible.
We would like to thank our Event Lunch Sponsor, Hospitality Staffing Solutions.

Getting audited by the city on TOT?
Webinar hosted October 26, 2022
Getting audited for taxes can be one of the most stressful experiences a person can go through. For a hotel, this involves taking time and resources away from actually running your hotel and compiling records spanning several years. While we cannot completely take away the stress, we can alleviate some of it by exposing you to professionals with experience on what to expect.
Mitchell Bryk, a noted tax consultant specializing in hotel-related transactions, will go over the current efforts by municipalities to collect Transient Occupancy Taxes from reservations booked through Online Travel Companies (OTCs). He covers the audit process, applicable contracts, legislation & litigation, terminology, rate parity and the OTC addendum, as well as several San Diego specifics.
